The Makati City government on Monday launched its free summer training for kids and young adults - including basketball, badminton, karate and swimming lessons.
Makati Mayor Jejomar Erwin S. Binay, Jr. led the launching of the Sports Music Arts and Recreation Training (SMART) at the City Hall Quadrangle.
Jun Binay said:
“This annual program of the city offers a great way for young citizens of Makati to spend their school summer break. Learning new skills and making new friends will help make our kids healthy not only physically, but also emotionally and socially,”
The SMART summers program is an annual event that offers residents ages 6 to 21 years a productive sumer break through free training in a sport of their choice.
Free t-shirts and other giveaways were given to hundreds of SMART enrollees in various sports, including basketball, badminton, karate and swimming.
Guitar lessons, ballet, voice lessons, dance clinic and acting workshop are also being offered. --Source: PIA
