Apple Insider reports that the Samsung Galaxy S5 will assume two forms, the "Standard" model and the "Prime" model.  Unlike rival Apple's iPhone 5s and 5c though, which debuted with metal casings and plastic casings respectively, S5's supposed Standard and Prime versions will both come in plastic.

As for the rumored fingerprint sensor on the S5, Apple Insider's report confirms, hinging on KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo's remark that the biometrics technology was "necessary" for Samsung's star model.

"Fingerprint is necessary for a star model. Because Apple's iPhone 5S and HTC's One Max have fingerprint, S5 the star model can't lack the function even [if] the solution (area type same as iPhone 5S's provided by Validity) is not as mature as iPhone 5S's," Apple Insider quotes Kuo.

Other rumored specs and features for Samsung's upcoming flagship device include a 5.2-inch WQHD AMOLED display at 2,560 x 1,440 or 565 pixel-per-inch resolution for the Prime model while the Standard model will most likely sport a same-sized WQHD AMOLED display at 1,920 x 1,080 or 423 pixel-per-inch resolution.

Both variants will reportedly support 3D gesture and most likely be equipped with 16MP rear cameras with phase detection autofocus and 2MP front-facing cameras, says Apple Insider.

Apple Insider adds that the S5 Standard model is predicted to run on Samsung Exynos 5430 (32-bit, Octa-core, 20nm process) while the Prime model might be powered by Qualcomm MSM 8974AC (32-bit, Quad-core, 28nm process) or Samsung Exynos 5422 (32-bit, Octa-core, 28nm process).--Excerpt from Latin Post
