PRC: 1,553 pass CPA licensure exams

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) said 1,553 out of 5,665 examinees passed the Certified Public Accountant Licensure Examination given by the PRC Board of Accountancy in the cities of Manila, Baguio, Cagayan De Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo and Legazpi this May 2013.

Richard Baguio Saavedra of Ateneo de Davao University topped the exam after getting a 96.00% grade.

Three students from University of San Carlos and another three from De La Salle University-Manila also made it to the top 10.

The top 10 examinees are:

6. Russel Aaron Nachor Ailes of Ateneo de Naga University and Hazel Valerie Ngo Sy of De La Salle University-Manila - 93.29 
7. Jon Vincent Ngo Ong - De La Salle University-Manila - 93.14
8. Glen Dareen Astillero Santos - Xavier University - 92.71
9. Kathleen Rivera Samonte - De La Salle University-Manila - 92.43
10. Arianne Cañon Fernando of University of San Carlos and Jay Ronald Leopardas Lluvido of Holy Name University (formerly Divine Word Tagbilaran) - 92.29 

The results were released one working day after the last day of examination.

De la Salle University-Manila was named the top performing school in the May 2013 licensure exam after 53 out of 55 examinees from the school passed the test.--Source: ABS-CBN News
