GMA Network news achor Jessica Soho slammed comedian Vice Ganda – whose real name is Jose Marie Viceral – earlier Tuesday for a “cruel” joke that he made about her during a sold-out show on May 17 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

In a statement sent to the Philippine Daily Inquirer by SMS, Soho said, ”Rape is not a joke and should never be material for a comedy concert.”
Soho, also the network’s vice president for news programs reacted to a whole sequence about her in the concert segment about unlikely TV celebrities becoming bold stars.
Viceral (Vice Ganda) jested that, should she start making sexy movies, the pivotal scene should be a gang rape. This was preceded – and followed – by other jokes about her weight.
“Rape victims…suffer tremendously from this terrible crime,” Soho said in the statement. “The horrors they go through are unspeakable and should never be taken lightly.”
From Viceral’s camp, road manager Russ Samson said they were still waiting as of posting time for the comedian’s “go-signal” to issue their own statement or clarification.--Source: Inquirer.net
