US visa-free policy for Filipinos just a hoax

Filipinos went crazy over an online report that visas will no longer be required for those who wish to travel to the United States of America.

US visa-free policy for Filipinos just a hoax

But a statement from the Philippine Embassy in Washington, DC immediately pulled down the excitement and said the report was just a hoax.

The agency said:

"The embassy of the Republic of the Philippines would like to inform the public that there is no truth to what appears to be an online news report that the United States has announced a 'no visa' policy for Filipinos,"

The fake news came from The Adobo Chronicles, which the embassy referred to as a "satirical piece that should not be taken seriously".

Of course, every avid reader of the Adobo blog knows this.

The fake report stated that the US State Department had announced a 'no-visa' policy for Filipinos.

Meanwhile, the US Embassy in Manila said there has been no change in the visa policy for Filipinos traveling to the US.

I guess everybody should fall back in line now at the US Embassy. Dream's over.

Pinay nurse in US shot to death by boyfriend

A Filipina nurse was shot and killed by her boyfriend on Sunday during a party in her house in Clearwater, Florida.

Alexander Richardson and Josephine Austria
Alexander Richardson and Josephine Austria

To their neighbors, Alexander Richardson, 24, and Josephine Nicole Austria, 51, appeared to be an ordinary couple living together.

But something went wrong early Sunday morning, leaving Austria dead and Richardson charged with her murder.

“Unbelievable. Easter Sunday, absolutely unbelievable," said Cathy Rice, who lives two doors away from the home Richardson and Austria shared on Hillcreek Circle East. "A quiet neighborhood, the worse that ever happens around here is the speeders.”

Richardson was booked Sunday in the Pinellas County Jail on a charge of second degree murder.

He also is facing charges of operating a firearm under the influence of alcohol or chemical substances.

Police officers were called to the couple’s home at 2368 Hillcreek Circle E. shortly after 1 a.m. Sunday. They found Austria unresponsive and bleeding from her head.

According to a Clearwater police report, Richardson ran to a Circle K convenience store on McMullen Booth Road, almost a mile away from the house, to report the incident. He asked a convenience store clerk to call 911 because he shot his girlfriend, the police report states.

The couple was hosting a birthday party for a friend when the shooting occurred. Several people were at the house when police officers arrived.

Austria was transported to a local hospital, where she later died.

Investigators spent much of Sunday at the house interviewing possible witnesses.

A search warrant for the residence was issued just before 10 a.m. An autopsy will be conducted to determine the official cause of death.

“We had to get a search warrant to enter the house after the victim was removed and everything," Clearwater police spokesman Rob Shaw said. "That was our initial response, trying to get the victim to a hospital to help her, but then it took us several hours to get a judge to sign a search warrant so we could go inside and begin our investigation.”

According to Richardson’s Facebook page, the couple began dating on Valentine’s Day 2013. Richardson was set to deploy within the next month. Austria worked as a registered nurse.

“I would just see her as she would go by, and I would just wave to her," Rice said. "She seemed nice, quiet and she had friends, she had parties and that’s normal. People do that.”--Source: WFLA

PNP chief slapped with plunder charge over gun license delivery deal

Director General  Alan Purisima, chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP) was charged with plunder over his alleged involvement in a P100-million shady deal with WERFAST, a private courier service company.

PNP chief slapped with plunder charge over gun license delivery deal

Another police general, Chief Superintendent Napoleon Estilles, the head of the Firearms and Explosives Office (FEO), was also included in the plunder complaint.

In his complaint-affidavit filed before the Office of the Ombudsman on April 16, 2014, Glenn Gerard Ricafranca of Barangay Capantawan in Legazpi City, accused the two police officials of entering into an allegedly anomalous contract with Wer Fast Documentary Agency, Inc. (WERFAST) three years ago.

Ricafranca said WERFAST was issued a certificate of   incorporation by the Securities and Exchange Commission  only on August 10, 2011. This means the company had no   juridical personality when it entered into a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the PNP in May 2011 without any   bidding.

In addition, he said WERFAST was not and has not become an authorized “Private Express and Messengerial/Courier   Delivery Service” by the Department of Transportation and Communications to deliver mail/parcel to the   public.

The complainant has further alleged that a certain Mario Juan, one of the courier agency’s incorporators, is a “kumpadre” of Purisima, while Enrique Valerio, who represented the PNP in the MOA, was a classmate and is a best friend of Purisima.

Retired Police Director Ireneio Bacolod, a high ranking officer of WERFAST used to head the PNP Civil Security  Group, the unit which has administrative supervision over the FEO. Bacolod used to be the boss of  Purisima, the complainant said.

Ricafranca said he learned about the anomaly when he decided to buy a handgun for protection on March 14, 2014 and inquired with the PNP about firearms license and registration.

He said that he was informed that the PNP has tapped WERFAST Documentary Agency to deliver gun license cards to licensees under a Memorandum of Agreement.

He said other applicants allegedly complained that it took up to three months before their gun licenses were delivered to them via LBC, not WERFAST.

Ricafranca said LBC charged only P90 per package while WERFAST charges P190 per package, or a difference of P100 which would unduly benefit WERFAST by as much as P100 million based on one million gun owners in the country.

Last April 8, the Supreme Court issued a temporary restraining order to the PNP to stop “utilizing any   courier services for deliveries of approved firearms license cards.”

“It is clear that WERFAST was getting undue favors from the PNP under the leadership of respondent Dir. Gen. Purisima without regard for the expenses and inconvenience it will cause to every citizen who lawfully owns or will own firearms.”

Ricafranca also asked the Ombudsman to also charge   Purisima with graft, grave abuse of authority, conduct unbecoming of government official, and violation of   Republic Act 9184 or the Government Procurement Reform Act.

He said WERFAST continued to provide services despite complaints because of the close personal relation or connection it has with Purisima.

“Respondent Purisima even went as far as publicly defending WERFAST in one of his press conferences, notwithstanding the questionable capacity and existence of WERFAST, according to a report,” he added.--Source: Inquirer

Cops who transported inmates on board jeepney face suspension

A police station commander and his three policemen are in hot water after photos of their jail detainees being transported on board a passenger jeepney circulated on social media.

Cops who transported inmates on board jeepney face suspension

Senior Inspector Lanel Mae Ree Lanado, commander of Police Station 1, and his three personnel face investigation and may be meted with a penalty of not more than 15 days suspension if they are found guilty of transporting three detainees on public utility jeepney (PUJ) with other passengers.

This was disclosed by Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) director Larry Decena on Tuesday after he received reports that the three detainees of Police Station 1 were transported from Hall of Justice on Gatuslao Street going to their station on San Juan Street on board a jeepney.

Photos of the inmates inside a PUJ posted on a social media site drew negative comments from netizens.

The three inmates Ian Velarde, 29, of Barangay 10, Michael Tangian, 26 and Edward Sain, 30, both of Barangay 35, were charged for illegal gambling before the City Prosecutor’s Office Monday afternoon.

Decena said he instructed Chief Inspector Ulyssess Ortiz, chief of BCPO Investigation Division and Management Branch, to conduct an investigation on the possible violations committed by personnel of Police Station 1, including their chief of police.

He said the said incident could create panic among civilians.

“We cannot avoid that civilians will think the suspects have a criminal instinct or have an intent to kill because they were handcuffed,” Decena added.

He said personnel of Police Station 1 explained they were rushing to attend an inquest at the Hall of Justice and their patrol car was not available at that time.

“It’s not a valid reason to transport the inmates on a PUJ with civilians because they could have hired a jeepney or taxi with no other passengers,” Decena added.--Source: Sun Star

The Epifanio delos Santos Avenue (EDSA) reblocking project has been suspended by Chairman Francis Tolentino of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA).

A separate report on state-run Philippines News Agency added the MMDA chairman cited the upcoming visit of US President Barack Obama next week as one of the reasons for the move.

Tolentino was quoted in the PNA report as saying the reblocking activities could be continued after Obama's visit.

On the other hand, Tolentino also cited heavy traffic expected with an evangelical mission event of the Iglesia ni Cristo near the SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City on Saturday.

An area of 2,000 square meters along EDSA in Mandaluyong and Quezon Cities still need repair, he noted. --Source: GMA News

Senator Juan Ponce Enrile is Skeletor and the defense minister of Sauron in the "Lord of the Rings," while Senator Paolo Benigno “Bam” Aquino IV is the youngest of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles -- or at least that's what their Wikipedia pages say.

Hacked! Wikipedia says Enrile is Skeletor, Bam Aquino is Mutant Ninja Turtle

On Wednesday, the Wikipedia pages of the two senators have been defaced, depicting them as fictional characters in comic books and cartoon series.

Enrile, 90, one of the longest serving politicians of the country, is known for being a defense minister under the Marcos regime.

He also became Senate President from 2008 to 2013 and has since been embroiled in the multibillion-peso pork barrel scam.

On Wednesday night, vandals described Enrile as fictional villain Skeletor, and as a defense minister of Sauron in the "Lord of the Rings" saga.

Enrile, according to the vandalized Wikipedia entry, was also a protege of late actor Charlie Chaplin. It also made other satirical descriptions of the veteran lawmakers.

Wikipedia - Enrile as Skeletor

Earlier, the Wikipedia entry of Senator Paolo Benigno “Bam” Aquino IV was also defaced, depicting him as one of the teenage mutant ninja turtles.

Aquino is the youngest senator of the 16th Congress. He used to be a youth leader before he was elected into his current post.

The “Early Life” portion of the senator’s Wikipedia entry was edited to say that Aquino is the son of "Master Splinter" and the "youngest brother of Donatelo, Michael Angelo and Raphaelo."

Both entries, however, were immediately fixed by its administrators.

Star Wars Holiday at the Resorts World on May 4

With their space vehicles lost into oblivion, the embattled Imperial Stormtroopers have no choice but to utilize the most available transportation in the Philippines -- the local jeepney.

Stormtroopers on board a passenger jeepney in Manila.

Using public transportation, local Stormtroopers are assembling from all over the country for the annual "Star Wars Day," an unofficial and fan-created holiday to celebrate their love for the film franchise.

Happening on May 4, Star Wars Day is a time for enthusiasts to don their favorite costumes, speak Yoda-ese, and greet each other with "May the 4th be with you" -- a twist on the famous quote "May the Force be with you."

For this year, the Philippine Outpost of 501st Legion, the local unit of an international organization of fans united by their penchant for dressing up as the film's villains, will hold festivities at the Resorts World Manila in Pasay over two days starting on May 3.

It will include a costume parade, photo ops with Darth Vader and his legion, and a display of Star Wars collectibles from Sideshow and Hottoys. It will also feature costume contests for kids and quizzes for teens and adults alike.

Why in May?

One of the earliest known records of “May the 4th” used in popular culture was in 1979, as described here by author Alan Arnold while he was chronicling the making of The Empire Strikes Back for Lucasfilm:

"Margaret Thatcher has won the election and become Britain’s first woman prime minister. To celebrate their victory her party took a half page of advertising space in the London Evening News. This message, referring to the day of victory, was 'May the Fourth Be With You, Maggie. Congratulations,' further proof of the extent to which Star Wars has influenced us all."

The date also became an unofficial kickstarter of sorts to a month of celebration, as May houses some of the franchises' milestones.

The six live-action movies of the Star Wars saga debuted in May (starting with the original "Star Wars" on May 25, 1977). The month also includes George Lucas’s birthday (May 14, 1944).

It is also reported that principal photography on Disney's "Star Wars: Episode VII" will commence in May, and soon to be followed by the rumored announcement of the full cast for the much-anticipated sequel.--Source: ABS-CBN News

It's Flores de Mayo season! BIR now goes after flower shops

Thanks for the tip!

Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) chief Kim Henares must have been thanking her lucky stars. And above all, thanking popular website SPOT.PH for releasing its review on the top 10 list of flower shops.

It's Flores de Mayo season! BIR now goes after flower shops

Taking off from the top 10 list done by SPOT.PH, the BIR checked whether these establishments filed their income tax returns (ITRs) in 2012.

It turns out, only half of the list have declared their income taxes two years ago, with Specialty Florists and Fruits in Bloom singled out for having no Tax Identification Numbers (TINs).

Designer Blooms, which the tax bureau described as one of the bigger chains with more than 40 branches nationwide, was among those that did not pay taxes in 2012. It did not file an income tax return (ITR) for that year, the BIR said.

Other flower shops that did not file ITRs in 2012 were Blue Barn and Flowers by Sylvia.

Two other shops—Specialty Florists and Fruits in Bloom—were also delinquent in that they were not even registered taxpayers. The two shops did not even have tax identification numbers (TINs), the bureau said.

The BIR said the five other flower shops in the Spot.ph list did declare income tax due in 2012, but the amounts remitted were inadequate.

BIR Flower Shops Tax Details

Teddy Manuel, which the BIR said was engaged not only in flower arrangement but wedding planning, declared an income tax due of only P1,463.

Spruce Floral Designs declared an income tax due of P6,993, Flower Farm P42,600; Tecson Flowers P92,570, and L. Carlos Florists, P117,539.

The BIR’s move to review the tax compliance of various business sectors is part of the government effort to boost revenue collection amid rising expenditure requirements.-- Interaksyon/Inquirer

A teenage boy jumped to his death off the third level of SM Southmall in Las Pinas City Thursday afternoon in an apparent suicide.

Security officers said the 17-year-old male, whose identity was temporarily withheld, was a resident of Metrocor Homes-B in Las Piñas City.

The teenage boy was brought to a hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.

As of posting, police authorities are still investigating the incident.

Mall tragedies

The incident has now got people wondering if there's enough security personnel in SM malls to prevent another tragedy from happening again.

In September 20, 2011 in SM Pampanga, a 13-year-old boy committed suicide by shooting himself in the head after killing his 16-year-old lover.

Earlier in September 14 of the same year, a former SM employee, Shiela Macapugay shot and killed her husband, Abel, who worked as a sales clerk at the Homeworld store in SM North Edsa after he allegedly left her for another woman.

A security guard who tried to stop Macapugay from committing suicide was also killed.

Last July 29, 2011, a security guard was killed in a shootout with Games and Amusement Board employee inside the restroom of SM Delgado Mall in Iloilo City.

SM Super Malls is the biggest mall chain in the Philippines owned by Henry Sy, one of the richest men in Asia.

Don't forget to bring your condoms when you go to Puerto Galera.

Puerto Galera a high-risk for HIV infection

A Department of Health (DOH) official is advising vacationers and beach-hoppers going to Puerto Galera in Oriental Mindoro not to engage in unprotected sex as the town is listed as one of the areas considered high risk for HIV (human immuno virus) or AIDS (acute immune deficiency syndrome) infection.

Eduardo Janairo, DOH director for Region-4B, said Puerto Galera is listed in the “Category C Area” where the risk of HIV/AIDS infection is higher.

“We have to stop the rising cases of HIV cases in the country by providing accurate information to the public,” Janairo said in a statement.

The health official reminded the public that HIV or AIDS could not be spread through air, mosquito bites, talking with or borrowing clothes from an HIV-infected person or shaking hands, embracing and sharing swimming pools.

“HIV, like most diseases, is preventable and the most effective way to do it is by abstaining from sex, having only one sex partner, using condoms, avoid sharing needles or syringes and educating oneself on the pros and cons of HIV,” Janairo said.--Source: Philstar

'Diagram' of ambushed cop surfaces, bares drug links to PNP senior officials

The Philippine National Police (PNP) hierarchy is now under deep scrutiny after an explosive "diagram" allegedly linking senior officials to cybersex and drug syndicates was leaked to media on Thursday. The sketch was prepared by a Bataan-based officer before he was shot dead in  Mandaluyong City last week.

'Diagram' of ambushed cop surfaces, bares drug links to PNP senior officials

The diagram, a copy of which was furnished the Inquirer by a source in Camp Crame, was said to have been prepared by Chief Insp. Elmer Santiago before the April 16 ambush.

Santiago, a former intelligence officer on “floating status” at the Central Luzon Police-Regional Personnel Holding and Administrative Unit, was shot dead by motorcycle-riding assailants while driving a Toyota Altis on Talumpong Street in Barangay Malamig. His wife Agnes, who was in the passenger seat, sustained injuries but survived the attack.

Days later, a Facebook page of a group calling itself the Anti-Drugs Advocate Laban ng Pamilyang Pilipino mentioned the existence of the “link diagram.”

In a statement, the Pasig City-based group said the diagram prepared by Santiago was supposed to be brought to PNP chief Director General Alan Purisima in a meeting to be arranged with the help of one of Santiago’s classmates in the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA).

But instead of handing the letter to Purisima, “his classmate gave the intelligence report to police officers included in the list,” the group alleged.

PNP chief Director General Alan Purisima on Thursday also ordered an investigation into allegations that ranking police officers, among them Santiago’s classmates from PNPA Class 1996, were behind the killing.

“The PNP chief has already directed the concerned units to take appropriate actions regarding the matter,” Senior Supt. Wilben Mayor, Purisima’s spokesperson, told reporters. “This is a sensitive issue.”

He said the PNP was looking into all the possible motives behind Santiago’s killing, including the possibility that he was silenced by colleagues being linked to organized crime. “We would really like to get to the bottom of this. We will ensure that the investigation will be fair and impartial,” he added.

As a move, the PNP has already ordered the relief of at least 25 policemen, among them six senior officials, whose names appeared in a “diagram”.

Director Carmelo Valmoria, National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) chief, earlier ordered the administrative relief of Supt. Robin King Sarmiento, the deputy chief of the Parañaque City police office.

Sarmiento, one of Santiago’s classmates in the PNPA, was among the police officials identified in the diagram.

Chief Supt. Raul Petrasanta, Central Luzon police director, has also sacked 24 policemen, including 19 police noncommissioned officers, assigned in various municipal police stations in Bataan province listed in the diagram.--Source: Inquirer

Here’s good news for Filipinos wishing to work or permanently settle in Canada.

Canada 'express entry' immigration to be launched 2015

The Canadian government is forging ahead with a new immigration system that will offer “express entry” to qualified immigrants, according to Labor Secretary Rosalinda Baldoz.

Citing a report from Leonida Romulo of the Philippine Overseas Labor Office in Toronto, Canada, Baldoz said that Canadian Citizenship and Immigration Minister Chris Alexander recently made an announcement regarding Canada’s active recruitment model for economic migration officially called “Express Entry,” formerly referred to as “Expression of Interest.”

“This model is considered to be a major step forward in the transformation of Canada’s immigration system into one that is fast, flexible, and focused on meeting its economic and labor needs,” Baldoz said.

Under the scheme, candidates who receive a valid job offer or nomination under Canada’s Provincial Nominee Program will be quickly invited to apply for permanent residency—a key distinction between Express Entry and the Temporary Foreign Worker Program, which is only used to fill temporary labor and skills shortages.

The immigration system is to be launched in January 2015.

On the other hand, Nova Scotia, one of Canada’s maritime provinces, recently introduced the New Nova Scotia Nominee Program—Regional Labor Market Demand Stream, aimed at selecting individuals who meet the labor market needs, wish to join the labor market with full-time and permanent positions, and wish to live in Nova Scotia.

“Applicants are not required to have a job offer at the time of submitting their application. However, they must intend to pursue employment in an occupation that has been designated as ‘in demand’ by the province,” Romulo said in her report.

Currently, there are 43 occupations in the fields of engineering, health services (including nursing), skilled trades, and food service identified as in demand by the province.--Source: Inquirer

School owner's son runs amuck inside Pasig campus, kills cop

In an ABS-CBN News article, Pasig police chief Senior Superintendent Mario Rariza said that Emerson Aries Go, 33, arrived at the St. Gabriel International School along Sandoval Avenue in a taxicab and carrying a shotgun, prompting security guards of the school to call for police assistance.

An off-duty cop, Senior Police Officer 1 Fernan Clemente, was playing basketball near the school at about 8:30 a.m. when the guards asked him to assist them.

According to Rariza, the security guards had asked Clemente to help disarm and pacify Go.

Rariza said that as Clemente was approaching Go, the suspect allegedly opened fire with the shotgun.

Clemente was rushed to the Pasig City General Hospital for emergency treatment while Go was later subdued and arrested by other policemen. Clemente later died at the hospital from his wounds.

As for the reason why Go was carrying a shotgun when he arrived at the school, Rariza said investigators have yet to find out as he refused to talk following his arrest.

This was not the first time that Go figured in a crime incident.

In December of 2012, Go held hostage his 66-year-old mother, Mildred, his two nephews aged eight and five years old, a four-year-old niece, and two of their housemaids inside their family-owned school.

Go surrendered after five hours of negotiation and was arrested.

As of posting, police authorities have not yet explained how Go managed to get out from jail despite of the 2012 hostage-taking incident, a non-bailable offense.

Kat Alano says she was raped

Television host Kat Alano, formerly of the defunct "Wowowee" noontime show,  admitted she was raped nine years ago by a public figure. This she said during the April 24 episode of DJ Mo Twister's podcast “Good Times with Mo."

Kat Alano says she was raped

It can be remembered that the TV host-actress took to social media to share her thoughts about rape last January, when Vhong Navarro was facing rape claims from model Deniece Cornejo. This made many netizens speculate that she was a victim of sexual abuse.

In the April 24 episode of DJ Mo Twister's podcast “Good Times with Mo,” Kat finally opened up about being a victim of rape.

“You know, rape is a funny thing. People think they assume to know all sorts of things about rape victims but they really don't know them at all. And when they react to people saying things about rape, they have no idea what they're talking about,” she said when asked by Mo why she chose to open up about her own rape.

Alano, who refused to reveal the identity of her rapist, said she met the guy through work on television “a couple of times.”

“I was out in a club and I was drinking with my friends and I had been there for a while so I drank quite a bit. And I saw him out and you know showbiz... when you met someone that you know, you say ‘hi’. You hang out, hey kumusta, beso beso,” she narrated.

She added, “We drank together. He buys me a drink, we're hanging out. I'm with my friends so there's a bunch of people. After a little while, I wanna go home, I started to feel tired. And I'm like, I wanna drive home. I decided I wanna go home. And he goes, 'Let me drive you home'.”

The actress said she initially declined the guy's offer to drive her home but he insisted on accompanying her as she appeared drunk.

“He's like, 'I’ll get my driver to follow in my car and I’ll drive your car because you're drunk and I’ll take you back to your place and I'll go home right afterwards' So I'm like, I'm drunk, okay, why not? His driver's right there, he's gonna go afterwards, why not,” she said.

“When you meet someone through work you don't assume something bad is gonna happen, which is the worst thing... And you meet them through other people, you automatically assume you can trust them, right?”

In the car, Alano said she started to “feel confused.” “I started to think to myself, 'What did I drink? Because I feel weird right now',” Alano said, admitting she drank a lot when she was younger.

After Mo suggested that she was drugged by the guy, Alano said: “I'm saying in my whole life before that and after that, I never felt that way before nor have I felt it again.”

“And we get to my place, and he parked the car. And I'm like, 'I'm gonna go upstairs now, thank you so much.' And his driver's right there and he was like, 'No, no, I'll take you upstairs',” she said.

Alano said she declined his offer, but the guy again insisted. “He started to usher me towards the elevator and I'm like, I don't want to go but I can't stop it. I can't control my body. I'm saying no... there's something in me that's already freaking out,” she said.

Alano further said she blacked out the moment they got into her apartment.  “I don't know what happened next. The only thing I know is that I woke up, I was passed out on my floor with my arms above my head and my legs were up in the air and he was pulling off my jeans. He looked really surprised that I was awake, and I blacked out again,” she said, adding she was in and out of consciousness at that point and would see the guy on top of her and kissing her.

'I knew I needed to speak up'

“It's like when I pass out, I have no clue. It's like a reset button. It's like, “Where am I? What the hell is going on?' And you know what he says to me? He's like, 'Don't worry, nothing's gonna happen, calm down, don't worry.' Until I pass out again and then he does it again. And I wake up and I start to freak out again. And again he sits down and says, 'Don't worry, nothing's gonna happen.' And he tries to calm me down and whatever until I pass out again,” she said.

Alano said the scandal concerning model Deniece Cornejo and Cedric Lee triggered something inside her. The name of Vhong Navarro was not mentioned throughout her conversation with Mo even as the TV host-actress said she does not know Cornejo and Lee personally.

“It broke me wide open,” Alano said when asked what her own case had to do with the Navarro-Cornejo scandal. “It brought back these feelings that I didn't even know that I had. It's incredible how in nine years you can think that you're totally fine and then one thing just sparks it all off and all these feelings you never thought you had or never had to deal with just came flooding back.”

She added, “It triggered things inside of me and I knew I needed to speak up. And I needed to tell you what happened to me.”

However, Alano said she isn't ready to take the case to court just yet because she “can't afford the legal aspect of it.” She sees her admission as a part of “freeing” herself

“This is why I'm saying this now. I'm admitting that I was raped. Because that is part of freeing yourself,” she said.--Source: Philstar
