US to deport 300,000 undocumented Pinoys

The Philippines government is now trying to confirm reports that about 300,000 undocumented Filipino workers in the United States will be sent back to the country.

US to deport 300,000 undocumented Pinoys

At a televised press briefing on Tuesday, Presidential Communications Sec. Sonny Coloma said they have asked the Department of Foreign Affairs this morning to verify such reports. He added that the government will be ready to assist the Filipinos who might be deported.

"As soon as we get such verification, we will advise you accordingly, but we are committed to the principle of extending protection to all Filipino nationals wherever they may be and that is the approach that we are taking here," Coloma said.

Local media reports on Tuesday said Eastern Samar Rep. Ben Evardone asked US Ambassador to Manila Philip Goldberg to support the Philippines government's request to designate the country under a Temporary Protected Status (TPS).

According to the reports, Evardone also asked Goldberg to recommend to US Pres. Barack Obama the immediate approval of the request.

A TPS defers the possible deportation of the Filipinos and allows them to work legally in the US. However, it does not grant permanent residence status to aliens.

Evardone reportedly said that the granting of the TPS could help the Philippines' rehabilitation efforts and recovery from Super Typhoon Yolanda due to the remittances of the Filipinos who would be declared as legal workers in the US.--Source: Philstar

PNPA vs. PMA - Police graduates to protest over discrimination

Graduates of the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) are reportedly making plans to protest the alleged discrimination against them within the Philippine National Police (PNP) organization, against a system that they said tend to favor graduates of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA).

PNPA vs. PMA - Police graduates to protest over discrimination

The PNPA graduates are said to be bristling at the alleged favoritism in the appointment of officers to vacant positions in the PNP, which reportedly are being reserved for the graduates of the Philippine Military Academy but who comprise the minority in the organization.

There are only about 300 PMA officers in the PNP but more than 95 percent of them are said to be occupying key positions in the organization, which has 3,600 PNPA graduates.

A paper circulated in Camp Crame and in other PNP camps on Tuesday says class presidents from the PNPA from 1983 up to 1992 have been holding meetings with their classmates to discuss how they can effectively protest the “unfair treatment” of the PNPA graduates in the PNP.

The graduates of the police academy are particularly critical of the membership of the Senior Officers Placement and Promotions Board or SOPPB, the body tasked to screen and recommend officers to key positions in the PNP and which is composed of PMA graduates.

“The current SOPPB board members are obviously biased in favor of every PMA alumnus applying for any key position at the PNP,” the paper says.

“The chances are nil for the applicants from the PNPA who have even complied with qualification standards such as eligibility, education, training and time-in grade.”

Two groups of non-PMAERS at the PNP—the more than 3,000 members of the Association of Police Lateral Entrants or APOLE and the more than 1,000 members of the Police ROTC Graduates for Integrity, Morality and Order or PRIMO—have signified their intention to join the planned protest of the PNPA officers.

“The police officers from the PNPA, APOLE and PRIMO are similarly situated because they are virtually considered second-class citizens in their own backyard in terms of promotion and assignments,” a source from the APOLE group said in the paper.

The source also claims that only PMA officers comprise the membership of the SOPPB, and that they favor their fellow PMA graduates when filling up vacant positions in the PNP.

The PNP Law says local chief executives have a say on the designation or appointment of officials in their respective localities, but that provision is said to be ignored if it works against the PMA graduates in the PNP.

“The PNPA graduates have no chance here [PNP],” the source said.--Source: Manila Standard Today

An arrogant sport scar driver who overtook several vehicles of the presidential convoy, including the car of President Benigno Aquino III, was cited for reckless driving after a brief chase along the Skyway.

Arrogant sports car driver who cut PNoy convoy gets ticket; brags connection with Erap, Binay

The President was heading for Manila after inspecting the international airport terminals when the incident happened.

A Malacañang source identified the driver as Jeffrey Roxas-Chua, a resident of Urdaneta Village, Makati. He was driving a red 2007 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution with license plate UWI 797.

According to the Palace source, Roxas-Chua first tried to overtake the vehicle of the Presidential Communication and Operations Office (PCOO), forcing the PCOO driver to slow down and give way.

Two police cars tried to block Roxas-Chua from cutting in the convoy, but the latter managed to outdrive them. He then wove in and out of the other vehicles until he reached the President's car and overtook it.

A cop aboard a motorcycle flagged down Roxas-Chua and issued him a ticket for reckless driving, noting he was going much faster than the 100 kilometers per hour allowed on the Skyway.

But Roxas-Chua allegedly got mad and demanded to know the name of the policeman, who answered that he was with the presidential escorts and that his name was on the ticket itself. He also took a video of the policeman who issued him a ticket.

Roxas-Chua then allegedly told the policeman: "Kay Presidente pala kayo ha. Ganyan pala. Humanda ka pag naging presidente si Binay o si Erap. Ipatatanggal kita."

In a statement, however, Manila City Development Information Office chief Diego Cagahastian said former President and now Manila Mayor Joseph 'Erap' Estrada does not know Roxas-Chua.

"Nagbilin na siya [Estrada] sa mga pulis na walang gagamit ng pangalan [niya] lalo na sa kalsada. Hindi niya kilala ‘yung Chua,” Cagahastian said.

The spokesperson of Vice President Jejomar Binay, Joey Salgado, also said Binay has no links to Roxas-Chua.

“Hindi namin siya kilala at tama lang ang ginawang paghuli sa kanya,” Salgado said.

A Google search showed Roxas-Chua is into customizing sports cars and joining racing events.--Source: ABS-CBN News

Mar Roxas 'loses temper' in Wack Wack Golf Club, apologizes

An incident report from the Wack Wack Golf and Country Club in Mandaluyong was filed against Interior Secretary Manuel Roxas II, one of its registered members, for allegedly making a scene over a green fee payment last April 6.

Mar Roxas 'loses temper' in Wack Wack Golf Club, apologizes

He purportedly berated a staff in the golf course for requiring him to pay the green fee of a guest.

Roxas admitted becoming upset over it but denied scolding or swearing at anyone.

A remorseful Roxas nonetheless apologized for the incident, saying it was a result of apparent confusion over the new policy at Wack Wack.

“If there is something wrong in what I did, I sincerely apologize for hurting someone. There was a misunderstanding on my part, for which I apologize. I direct my apology to the Wack Wack family,” Roxas said in Filipino.

“This incident would form part of my reflection for this Lenten season,” Roxas told The STAR.

A key member of the Cabinet of President Aquino, Roxas is one of the regular members of the exclusive golf and country club frequented not only by private golf aficionados but also by many government officials.

“Wack Wack is like a second home to me. I have been playing golf there since I was eight years old. I inherited the shares at Wack Wack from my late father,” he said.

Roxas sent a text message explaining the incident resulting from an apparent confusion over the new policy involving the green fee of a guest.

“There was misunderstanding over the policy requiring the payment of green fee by someone merely standing nearby who is not even a player. I later learned there was a new policy,” he said.

Although he got upset, Roxas clarified he did not berate or cuss at anyone. What came out were words of exasperation due to an unexpected situation and which were not directed to any person, he said.

“Out of my frustration, I got upset. But I did not direct it against someone and most of all, I did not swear at someone,” Roxas said.

Nonetheless, Roxas said he would settle the green fee as required by the house rules of the golf club.--Source: Philstar

The Philippines' tarsier was chosen as the mascot for this year’s Asian Summer Film Festival which will be held from July 15 to July 20 in the Catalan city of Vic in Spain.

PH tarsier 'Guapo' chosen as mascot for Spain filmfest

The cute and tiny primate from Bohol, Philippines - aptly named "Gwapo" - will be gracing the event’s posters to represent the focus country of this year’s Festival—the Philippines.

According to the Festival website cinemaoriental.com, the mascot was conceived in honor of the country and named "Gwapo" to demonstrate the Spanish legacy in the Southeast nation--Filipino word "gwapo" came from the Spanish word "guapo" which both mean handsome.

One of the organizers of the Festival, Eva Clota, said that they always look for a typical animal or a symbol from the focus country to be the mascot. The mascot was drawn by Estudi Xevidom and designed by Valdrada.

"The consul (of the Philippines) from Barcelona proposed the tarsier because of his popularity in the Philippines and because they're endangered. We thought they are really cute; also they have night habits, as (we have) our nights of dinner and cinema. And because of his big eyes, (which will help us not to) miss anything from the festival," Clota added.

Philippine Honorary Consul to Barcelona Jordi Puig Roches said that they had had to choose among three animals: the butanding (whale shark), the Philippine eagle and the tarsier.

"Tarsier's big eyes are good to observe Philippine filmography. The mascot also represents well the Philippine cinema--it might be small but it has big potential and great quality," Puig said in Spanish.--Source: ABS-CBN News

"I'm facing the charges. I've always faced it," she was quoted as saying by radio reports.

Reyes flew abroad days before the Department of Justice-NBI team filed plunder charges with the Office of the Ombudsman against her, three senators including Enrile, and 35 other parties for their alleged roles in diverting billions of pesos of Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) into bogus nongovernment organizations of businesswoman Janet Lim Napoles.

On the Philippine Airlines flight PR 105 that she took from San Francisco to Manila which arrived about 4 a.m. Saturday, she was manifested as "Jessica Reyes."

She was escorted by two men believed to be security personnel in civilian clothes, but it wasn't clear whether they were private or state  employees.

Reyes was then whisked away in a private vehicle to an unknown destination.

Reyes was named among the respondents in the plunder case for allegedly signing documents to release Enrile's pork barrel to bogus non-government organizations put up by Janet  Lim-Napoles, who is said to have masterminded the scam.--Source: Philstar/Interaksyon

Paul Walker's brothers to take over his character in Fast and Furious 7

Paul Walker's role, Brian 'O Conner, will not die in the forthcoming installment of Fast & Furious, the production team confirmed.

Paul Walker's brothers to take over his character in Fast and Furious 7

Apparently, Paul's brothers, Cody and Caleb will take over his character and would finish the movie that he co-starred with Vin Diesel nearly 13 years ago.

In a statement released in the Fast & Furious Facebook page, producers admitted that they took time to grieve and figure out what should be done with the film. Turns out, they decided to continue to consider what the fans really wanted, which they believed the late actor would have wanted too.

Cody and Caleb will be joining the cast of the Fast & Furious 7 to complete the remaining action scenes and small gaps left in the production. "Having them on set has made us all feel that Paul is with us too," the statement said.

Paul and co-lead star Vin Diesel recently won at the MTV Movie Awards for Best On-Screen Duo. An emotional Diesel thanked MTV for honoring him and Walker on the award that they also shared in 2002.

"Paul had already shot his dramatic scenes and most of his action for FAST & FURIOUS 7," the statement said.

The statement took note of Paul's reprisal of his "most defining role" as "the strongest work of his career."

As early as December, The Daily Mail reported that Cody has been eyed to play Paul's character as they have similar resemblance. He worked as a stuntman and now serves as Brand Manager to his brother's Reach Out Worldwide charity, a foundation that supports victims of calamities.

"I can now officially confirm what so many have already assumed. FF7- let's make it great and make my bro proud," Cody said in his Facebook page.

Paul died in a car crash in November 2013.

Already, the production team of Fast & Furious 7 has resume shooting and targets to complete the film before the year ends in time for its April 2015 release. Universal Pictures earlier suspended the film followed by Paul Walker's untimely demise. --Source: Travelers Today

Manny Pacquiao returns to PH, but no welcome parade

World boxing icon Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao at dawn on Friday returned to Manila minus the hero’s welcome including a motorcade that used to greet him, a week after he reclaimed the world welterweight crown from American rival Timothy Bradley in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Manny Pacquiao returns to PH, but no welcome parade

Most people said the main reason was that Pacquiao’s arrival coincided with the solemn observance of Good Friday during Holy Week that marked the crucifixion and death of Jesus Christ in this largely Catholic nation of 100 million Filipinos.

From the Ninoy Aquino International Airport, GMA News reported that Pacquiao and his party took a private jet to General Santos City in restive Mindanao where he was also accorded a “quiet” welcome.--Source: Gulf Today

Popular travel website Choose Philippines has a former child actor as its editor-in-chief - Philip Kimpo Jr., the bright boy in ABS-CBN's educational kiddie show "SinEskwela."

Remember SinEskwela? Former child actor is now editor of Choose PH

Kimpo appeared on ABS-CBN’s educational programs in the ‘90s --“SinEskwela” and “Hiraya Manawari” -- when he was 11 years old.

He treasures those years as he got to know some well-known personalities in the country. At the same time, he was able to help his family financially.

“It was a beautiful experience, though the taping took long until dawn. We were waiting for the other actors to arrive. I even remember us waiting for Rez Cortez,” he said.

Kimpo has kept a 16-year-old taping call slip, script, and pay slips.

After three acting stints, Kimpo was offered by the other network to host an educational program but he backed out as he had to focus on his studies.

As the EIC of Choose Philippines, Kimpo has been travelling a lot as part of his job -- mainly to find, discover, and share more of the country’s natural beauty. He was able to travel in seven different provinces since he started last January.

“It was overwhelming that, after a long time, I had the chance to come back to ABS-CBN, though being an EIC is miles different from what I was doing when I was a kid,” he shared.--Source: ABS-CBN News

A total of 20 earthquakes, including three powerful ones, rocked different parts of the Philippines from April 17 to 18, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) told Gulf News on Saturday.

PH rocked by 20 tremors in 2 days, PHIVOLCS warns of major quake to follow

Eight weak earthquakes ranging from magnitudes 2.6 to 3.5 occurred in northern Luzon, the central and southern Philippines on Friday, a day after two strong quakes measuring 4.9 and 4.5 in magnitude struck three minutes apart in Batanes Province, northern Luzon on Thursday, Phivolcs said.

Data showed that 4.9 magnitude quake occurred 171kms west of Sabtang, Batanes at 11.47pm on April 17, followed by 4.5 magnitude quake 165km west of Sabtang at 11.50pm on the same day, Phivolcs said.

Prior to these incidents, nine other earthquakes ranging from 2.4 to 3.7 in magnitude hit different parts of the country on Thursday, April 17 — one in northern Luzon, five in southern Luzon, and three in the central Philippines, on April 17, Phivolcs said.

A more power temblor, measuring 5.5 on the Richter scale, struck 244km south-west of Palimbang, Sultan Kudarat, in the southern Philippines just after noon on April 17.

The unusual number of earthquakes that criss-crossed the Philippines in these two days could signify the occurrence of a major earthquake, Phivolcs warned, but did not give details.

Ten people have drowned in swimming parties and outings in different vacation spots in Luzon since Holy Wednesday, bringing to 22 the number of fatalities in various incidents during the holiest days of the Lenten season, disaster officials and police reported yesterday.

10 drown in Holy Week swimming parties, outings

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) reported the drowning of Eugenio Barcena, 52, of Bangbangar in Bangued, Abra, when he went for a swim after a drinking session with relatives on the beach in Cabalangan, Bantay, Ilocos Sur, at 4:40 p.m. last Maundy Thursday.

He was rushed to the Central Ilocos Sur District Hospital but it was already too late.

In Quirino province, nine-year-old Jestoni Hangdaan drowned while swimming with his brother in the Addalam River in Aglipay town, around 3 p.m. also Maundy Thursday, said the NDRRMC.

In Bagac, Bataan, James Romm Mirasol, 16, and Vincent Caramonte, 19, whose families travelled all the way from Magalang, Pampanga, for a seaside picnic drowned in the same afternoon, said Senior Inspector Joey Sampaga, local police chief.

Sampaga said the two teenagers seemed to have been carried by strong waves 30 meters out into the sea from the shoreline of Barangay Pag-asa in Bagac around 4:30 p.m. When their bodies were recovered and taken to the hospital, it was all too late.

In Cavite, an outing by a group of factory workers turned into tragedy when one of them – 29-year-old Gilvie F. Terunez – drowned at the Sta. Rosa Falls (also called the “Mayang Falls) in Barangay Conchu, Trece Martires City also on Maundy Thursday.

Police Officer 2 Lester Luke B. Baysa, case investigator, said Terunez disappeared underwater at past noontime and her body was retrieved three hours later.

In another incident in Cavite, grief gripped a group of Seventh Day Adventist excursionists when one of their members drowned during their “Palarong Bayan” mass swimming activity game in the bay in Maragondon town last Friday.

Case prober PO2 Teddy Labampa said the group’s head pastor, Jessie G. Calera, reported the drowning of the 34-year-old member of their flock, Harold E. Pablo, who hails from Malabon City in Metro Manila.

Also on Good Friday, Engr. Mark Vendiola Maravillas, 23, single and a native of GMA, Cavite, drowned after being carried out into the sea during a swimming outing with his friends in Sitio Tabunan, Barangay Bignay 2, Sariaya, Quezon.

Police said a local boy, Christopher Carriaga Javier, 17, single, a farmer, tried to rescue Maravillas, but the lifesaver he brought with him was thrashed by violent waves. Javier also drowned in his effort to save the engineer.

In Infanta, also in Quezon province, bossom buddies Jonas Rebante Mercado, 18, and Jeffrey Avellaneda Borreo, 16, single both of Purok Libis, Poblacion, Bantilan, Infanta, drowned in the sea on Good Friday.

The two boys were having a beach party with their friends at the Monica Beach Resort in Barangay Boboin, when the high tide also brought big waves that drowned them around 5:30 p.m.

Meanwhile, the NDRRMC also monitored 12 vehicular accidents, one maritime incident, one carbon monoxide poisoning, and at least three fire incidents since Maundy Thursday which resulted in the death of a dozen other people.--Source: NDRRMC/Manila Bulletin

Arson prober SFO1 Benedicto S. Tudla of the Caloocan fire station identified the fatality as Ricky Reyes, a namesake of popular celebrity salon owner and businessman.

Meanwhile, four people were brought to the hospital due to the incident. They were Cristina Navarro (who suffered minor burn); Lea Chua and barangay chairman Antonio Duran (both experienced difficulty in breathing; and Alan Pineda (who sustained wounds).

Most of the houses razed were allegedly occupied by informal settlers.

The fire started at a residential area along Maria Clara Street, reportedly owned by Jojo Esperada, in Barangay 120 at around 5:25 p.m. By 8 p.m., the fire already reached the general alarm.

The fire quickly spread to houses in neighboring Barangays 118 and 119, leaving an estimated 1,000 families homeless. The affected families were sent to five evacuation centers in the city.

The firefighters had difficulty in putting out the fire due to shortage of water supply and strong wind that made the fire spread.

Caloocan Mayor Oscar Malapitan said the affected 1,000 families will be housed temporarily in Bagong Silang. -- Source: Manila Bulletin

Tigerair Philippines announced a P1 fare promo for travellers who book from April 20 to 22, for the travel period of Jan. 1 to March 31, 2015.

Tigerair announces Piso Fare

The airline said travelers could plan their dream vacation ahead by taking advantage of the promo.

“One good reason why you book your travel in advance is because you can plan ahead for a good vacation.  We invite the young, the independently wealthy, students, retirees and even the working folks with a few weeks of vacation time to take advantage of the piso fare promo,” said Tigerair Philippines vice president for commercial Joey Laurente.

“We give you more reasons to fly with us.  And with our alliance with Cebu Pacific, Tigerair Philippines network is now made wider.  Our customers can now expect the lowest fares to the largest low cost network, to, from, and within the Philippines,” Laurente said.

Tigerair Philippines will continue to be operated out of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 4, while Cebu Pacific flights will remain at Terminal 3.--Source: Manila Standard Today

Accused in Vhong Navarro's case reveals 'OPLAN BUGBOG'; Lee, Cornejo, 3 others still missing

One of the males accused in the mauling of actor Vhong Navarro is seeking to turn state witness and tell all regarding a supposed "Oplan Bugbog," which he said was planned by Lee, Cornejo and their group. This came after arrest warrants for serious illegal detention were issued against them.

Accused in Vhong Navarro's case reveals 'OPLAN BUGBOG'; Lee, Cornejo, 3 others still missing

A Taguig court has issued arrest warrants against model Deniece Cornejo, businessman Cedric Lee and three others accused in the mauling of actor-TV host Vhong Navarro.

The arrest warrants were issued by Judge Paz Esperanza Cortes of the Taguig Regional Trial Court Branch 271 against Cornejo, Lee, Jed Fernandez, Simeon Raz Jr. and Ferdinand Guerrero in connection with the serious illegal detention case filed by Navarro.

Serious illegal detention is a non-bailable offense.

According to Chief Supt. Jose Erwin Villacorte of the Southern Police District, they received the arrest warrants at around 12 noon.

Villacorte refused to comment on why the two others accused in the case -- Bernice Lee and Jose Calma -- are not included in the arrest warrants issued by the court.

"Subject pa to further evaluation," Justice Secretary Leila de Lima said. "It means the judge made her own independent evaluation of the facts and the evidence. Ipapa-evaluate ko 'yan sa panel of prosecutors namin, if there's need to file motion for partial reconsideration or a motion reiterating the previous motion for the issuance of warrants of arrest against everybody kung hindi sakop lahat."

As of this posting, police authorities are still looking for the whereabouts of Lee, Cornejo, Fernandez, Raz and Guerrero.

'OPLAN BUGBOG'

Meanwhile, de Lima said one of the males accused in the mauling wants to turn state witness, revealing "Oplan Bugbog," which he said was planned by Lee, Cornejo and their group.

The January 22 incident took place at Cornejo's condominium unit in Taguig. Navarro was tied up, blindfolded and mauled by the group, and was then brought to the Southern Police District where he was made to sign a blotter that details his supposed attempt to rape Cornejo.

Last week, arrest warrants in connection with the criminal charge of grave coercion were issued against Lee's group.

Cornejo and Fernandez have since posted P12,000 bail for the grave coercion case. --Source: ABS-CBN News

1 of 5 Pinoys says cronyism a 'very serious' problem under PNoy - SWS survey

One out of five Filipinos still considers cronyism a "very serious" problem under the watch of President Benigno Aquino III, according to a new poll by Social Weather Stations.

1 of 5 Pinoys says cronyism a 'very serious' problem under PNoy - SWS survey
The SWS poll asked the question, “Cronies are those who use their friendship with the President to enrich themselves in improper ways. How serious in your opinion is the cronyism in the present administration?”

The poll found that 20 percent of respondents considered cronyism "very serious," the same level as in March 2012 and higher than the 19 percent in November 2010.

Around 40 percent said cronyism was “somewhat serious,” higher than the 37 percent in March 2012 but lower than the 44 percent in November 2010.

About 17 percent said cronyism was “a little serious” while 22 percent said it was “hardly serious.”

“(But) the public’s perception of cronyism in the present administration had no correlation with their satisfaction with the performance of Benigno ‘Noynoy’ Aquino III as president,” the SWS qualified,

The survey was taken from March 27 to 30 and had 1,200 respondents. Sampling error margins of ±3 percent for national and ±6 percent for area percentages applied to the survey.

The SWS said it first started asking the question of cronyism in September 1999 during the term of then President Joseph Estrada.

By region

In Metro Manila, 22 percent believed cronyism was “very serious” under Aquino’s presidency. This was “barely changed” from 22 percent in 2012 and higher than 21 percent in 2010.

In Balance Luzon, 21 percent believe cronyism was “very serious,” lower than 22 percent in 2012 and higher than 16 percent in 2010.

Of the respondents from Visayas, 18 percent believed it was "very serious," higher than 13 percent in 2012 and lower than 22 percent in 2010.

Meanwhile, in Mindanao, those who consider cronyism "very serious" hardly changed at 20 percent, from 22 percent in 2012 and 19 percent in 2010.

Other administrations

When the SWS first asked about cronyism during Estrada administration, 27 percent of respondents then said cronyism was “very serious.”

This rose to 30 percent two months later, declined to 26 percent in March 2000, 21 percent in June 2000 and 20 percent in September 2000. However, it rose to 30 percent at the end of 2000.

From September 1999 to December 2000, those who said cronyism was “somewhat serious” under Estrada ranged from 33 to 44 percent.

In January 2001, at the start of the Arroyo administration, the SWS asked respondents a slightly different question: “Cronies are those who use their friendship with the president to enrich themselves in improper ways. In your opinion, what is the possibility that cronyism will be widespread under the administration of President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo?”

Seventeen percent said it would “definitely happen” while 47 percent replied “probably will happen.”

About 26 percent said this “probably will not happen” while 9 percent said it “definitely will not happen.”

In February 2001 the second part of the question was revised to “How serious, in your opinion, will cronyism be in the Arroyo administration?”

Of the respondents, 22 percent said it would be “very serious” while 41 percent said it would be “somewhat serious.” About 21 percent said it is “a little serious” while 14 percent said it is “hardly serious.”--Source: GMA News
