The much awaited official movie trailer of "Kubot: The Aswang Chronicles 2" is finally out -- our personal choice entry for this year's Metro Manila Film Festival.
Directed by Erik Matti, the "Aswang" sequel brings back Makoy, played by Dingdong Dantes, who is seen in the trailer as a monster-slayer continuing his battle against the evil "aswangs" led by actor-veejay KC Montero.
The conflict arises when the Kubot aswangs make a daring invasion in the city victimizing yuppies and young children alike.
So, what exactly is a "kubot"?
According to WikiPilipinas, a Kubot is a bat-like creature in Philippine Mythology that resembles an umbrella, with its huge, wide wings. It takes its victim home to be butchered.
Also starring are Joey Marquez, Lotlot de Leon, Isabelle Daza, and Elizabeth Oropesa. Supporting cast includes Julie Ann San Jose, Abra, Rina Reyes and funny men Ramon Bautista, Bogart the Explorer and Jun Sabayton.
