The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said it will be a cloudy Friday, October 3, for different parts of the country, including Metro Manila.
According to the agency's 5 pm bulletin on Thursday, October 2, PAGASA said cloudy skies with light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms will affect the following areas:
- Bicol
- Western Visayas
- Zamboanga Peninsula
- Northern Mindanao
- Caraga
- ARMM
- Quezon
- Rizal
- Samar
- Mindoro
- Marinduque
- Romblon
- North Cotabato
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.
An intertropical convergence zone is still affecting Mindanao, while PAGASA spotted on Thursday afternoon a typhoon (international name Phanfone) outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility or at 1580 km east of extreme Northern Luzon.
Moving west northwest at 20 km per hour, the typhoon has maximum sustained winds of 175 km per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 210 km per hour.
Coastal seas will be moderate to occasionally rough as moderate to occasionally strong winds blow from the northeast to northwest over the eastern section of Luzon, and from the west and southwest over the eastern sections of Visayas and Mindanao.
