An innovative "Dancing Traffic Light" has taken the streets of Lisbon, Portugal by storm. And its inventors claim the lights had helped lower down risks of vehicular injuries and deaths.
Waiting for the light to turn green is something many pedestrians hate doing. Because of this, they often ignore these lights and run across the street and end up being bumped by moving vehicles. And very often, this can cause injuries to themselves, and sometimes, even death.
So to combat this, car brand Smart has come up with a VERY smart solution : they've designed The Dancing Traffic Light in Lisbon, Portugal, which has a red icon that dances and keeps you entertained while you wait for the signal to change.
The smart people at Smart constructed a 'dance-room' nearby where anyone could walk in and dance to their hearts content, while the traffic light-icon imitates him/her.
Sort of like Wii, only with dancing! The video claims that 81% more people stopped at traffic lights after this. --Source: NDTV
