A 16-year-old girl who wanted to join a television reality show was raped by a fake talent scout she met online.
"Jana", not her real name, said she had always wanted to join reality shows.
At a group chat, she met a certain "James" who posed as a talent scout of ABS-CBN.
"Pwede raw siya makapagpasok ng 3 babae. Pasok na daw po. Tapos yun, binigay niya yung telephone number niya sa akin. Kinuha ko naman," she said in an interview on ABS-CBN.
Jana said she met up with James who first made her sign a contract.
James then led the unsuspecting teen to another room where he raped the girl.
"Pinwersa niya akong humiga sa kama. Ayaw ko po talaga. Sabi ko: 'Sige na, kahit hindi na ako makapasok.' Ayaw pa rin niyang tumigil kasi nandun na raw kami. Lulubos-lubusin na raw niya yung gagawin niya para makabawi siya sa lahat-lahat ng kanyang tulong na ginawa niya sa akin," she recounted.
After the rape, Jana contacted authorities who set up an entrapment operation.
She then contacted James who promised to help Jana in exchange for sex.
At the meeting place, NBI agents pounced on James and arrested him for raping a minor.
