Heavy traffic can still be experienced in several parts of the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) Thursday due to the exodus of motorists traveling during the country's long Holy Week break 2014.
Northbound traffic leading to the Balintawak and Mindanao toll plazas was stalled due to the high volume of vehicles at around 8 a.m., but traffic cleared at 11 a.m.Motorists also experienced heavy traffic from Marilao to San Simon.
Traffic was moderate from San Fernando to Angeles as of 10:40 a.m., but heavy traffic was seen at the Dau exit.
The queue at the Dau toll plaza was approximately 1 kilometer long, the Toll Regulatory Board said.
Travel time from Balintawak to Dau as of 10:45 a.m. will take about 2 and a half hours, according to the North Luzon Integrated Guide and Travel Advisory System of the Tollways Management Corp.
Meanwhile, southbound lanes of NLEX and both directions of the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX) are fast moving.--Source: Toll Regulatory Board/ABS-CBN News
