"Ghostbusters" star Harold Ramis has died at the age of 69, from complications of auto-immune inflammatory disease.

The actor-director played as the witty parapsychologist Dr. Egon Spangler in "Ghostbusters," a movie which became a phenomenal hit in 1984 branching out on a sequel (1989), a cartoon television series and several video games.
Ramis, who was born in Chicago, went on to work behind the camera on a string of films including 'Groundhog Day' and 'Analyse This'.

In 2004, Ramis was inducted into the St. Louis Walk of Fame. In 2005, Ramis was the recipient of the Austin Film Festival's Distinguished Screenwriter Award.
Earlier in 2012, Ramis was reportedly doing some draft works with Dan Aykroyd for a possible "Ghostbusters 3" movie.--Source: Irish Inedependent
