Flappy Bird continues to dominate the app market getting up to 50 million downloads to date -- making the Angry Birds angrier than they used to be.

Flappy Birds get 50 million downloads, Angry Birds get angrier

Flappy Bird actually isn't new. If you have lived through the 80s and the 90s, you'll notice its similarities to the previous helicopter and rocket ship games we once had back in those days.

But new or not, there's no doubt that the winged beak-and-feathered fowl has captured the attention (and interest) of the masses that it had become the most popular game app in town.

An article from Ubergizmo said that Flappy Bird has become so popular it's speculated that it earns a whooping $50,000 per day in advertising revenues alone. (Wow!)

Also, it has remained right at the top of the iTunes and Google Play charts for approximately a month now, where it has seen around 50 million downloads to date.

Reviews? Well, aside from it being one of the most notoriously difficult to play, the app is one heck of fun, enjoyment, and excitement (and don't forget the frustrations!) rolled into one.

The future of the Flappy Bird? We still don't know, but it's expected that it'll be on the Windows Phone platform very, very soon.

What about the Angry Birds? Maybe angrier than they used to be.
