Mazda Philippines today announced the launch of the all-new Mazda BT-50 pickup truck. Fully redesigned at its third generation, the all-new BT-50 has a sporty and powerful look, exceptional driving performance capable of taking on all kinds of driving situations, and functionality that have all been highly regarded by drivers who actively drive pickup trucks.
The second fully-redesigned model aims to bring customers pleasure and enjoyment. Based on the latest Isuzu D-Max, special care went into the vehicle's design, ease of use and into creating peace of mind for the occupants.
The all-new BT-50 design expresses the unique beauty of Mazda's Kodo—Soul of Motion design theme with power, toughness and utilitarian functionality suited to a pickup truck. Mazda developed the BT-50 with the intention of making travel and the time spent inside the vehicle exceptionally pleasant. The vehicle's driving performance, functionality and safety meet the active needs of the wide range of situations in which customers may use pickup trucks.
In terms of exterior design, the new BT-50 is a complete departure from the outgoing model. Blending in with Mazda's Kodo design are the pick-up truck's new LED headlights, grille, sporty front bumper, and its 18-inch two-tone alloy wheels.
The interior of the new BT-50 has been completely redesigned as well, with a huge infotainment touchscreen that supports Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, and USB. Other elements, like the dual-zone automatic climate control, an 8-speaker sound system, a 4.2-inch multi-info display, rear A/C vents, and a navigation system also comes with the new BT-50. For the upholstery, Mazda has given the vehicle a full-leather appearance as can be seen from the seats up to the dashboard, and center armrests.
Safety features include 7 airbags which comprises a knee airbag and front side airbags that provide a protective cocoon in an emergency situation. A suite of Mazda Active Safety Technology features such as Adaptive Cruise Control, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Attention Assist, Lane Departure Warning System, Blind Spot Monitor, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and Auto Highbeam Control, all work in harmony to lessen the chances of an incident on the road.
There is only one available engine option on the all-new Philippine-spec Mazda BT-50 which is a 3.0-litre turbo-diesel inline-four that makes 190 PS along with 450 Nm of torque. This engine is shared with the Isuzu D-Max. For the transmission, buyers can get either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic with sequential shift.
