We weren't able to see the "Blood Moon" in all its glory and splendor last night because of the thick clouds, but some people around the world did. And Singaporeans were among the lucky ones.
This beautiful lunar photography was shot above the Singapore skies as the moon rose on the night of October 8.
NASA scientist Dr. Shawn Domagal-Goldman explained in a primer for the previous blood moon in April 2014, that the reddish color is not an illusion but ‘adding up all the sunrises and sunsets all over the planet Earth at the same time and bouncing them off the moon’s surface.’
The October blood moon is the second of four that will happen over a 17-month period between April 2014 and September 2015. For some religious folks, it may mean a precursor of doom and that the end is near; but for me, I just consider it as a beautiful sight to enjoy.
