Philippine race car champion Ferdinand "Enzo" Pastor was gunned down by motorcycle riding-n-tandem men in Quezon City Thursday night, according to a radio report.
Pastor was on his way to Subic for the final leg of the Asian VA championship when a man wearing a face-mask shot him.
Pastor was the first Filipino to participate in the NASCAR Whelen Euroseries Open Championship race circuit.
Investigators are still gathering leads on the assailants and determining the motive for the shooting of Pastor.
Pastor was in a pickup truck at Visayas Avenue corner Congressional Avenue when men riding in tandem shot him, the report said.
The racer was shot in the head and died while being treated at a hospital.
Wounded in Thursday night's attack was Pastor's assistant, Paulo Salazar, who was in the pickup truck (WSC-331). --Source: DZBB
