'Tropical Storm Gorio' storm warning signals - PAGASA

Weather bureau PAGASA has raised storm warning signals in over 30 areas, including Metro Manila, due to Tropical Storm Gorio as it maintained its strength as it moves west northwest as of Saturday evening.

According to weather bureau PAGASA, Gorio was spotted at 60 kilometers northeast of Calapan, Oriental Mindoro as of 10 pm, moving at 24 kilometers per hour. It had maximum sustained winds of 65 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 80 kph.

It was forecast to move west northwest at 24 kph.

Signal No. 2 remains up over Metro Manila, Pangasinan, Tarlac, Zambales, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, Bulacan, Rizal, Bataan, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Albay, Mindoro Provinces including Lubang Island, Romblon, Marinduque, Quezon Province, Camarines Provinces and Burias Island.

Under Signal No. 1 are La Union, Benguet, Nueva Vizcaya, Quirino, Aurora, Polillo Island, Catanduanes, Sorsogon, Masbate including Ticao Island, Coron and Calamian Group of Islands, Capiz, Aklan and Antique.

Gorio was expected to be at 350 kilometers northwest of Metro Manila Sunday evening.

By Monday evening, it was seen to be 870 kilometers northwest of Metro Manila and out of the Philippine Area of Responsibility.--Source:PAGASA/ABS-CBN News
