The hit Taiwanese youth series "Meteor Garden" returns to television as ABS-CBN celebrates its 10th anniversary of airing Asianovelas.
The Kapamilya network, which first aired "Meteor Garden" in 2003, uploaded a teaser trailer on the video-sharing site YouTube on Wednesday.
"Meteor Garden," which starred Barbie Hsu and Jerry Yan, Vic Zhou, Vanness Wu and Ken Chu, who are collectively known as F4, is based on a Japanese manga series. Even after the series ended, F4 continued to perform together and released three studio albums.
In the Philippines, "Meteor Garden" has been credited for starting the so-called "Asianovela craze," with ratings that usually reached over 50%.
The series centers around a poor girl Shan Chai (Hsu), who at the insistence of her parents goes to a university for the rich. There, she meets Dao Ming Si (Jerry Yan), Hua Ze Lei (Vic Zhou), Mei Zuo (Vanness Wu) and Xi Men (Ken Chu), who are heirs to influential families in Taiwan.
The network has yet to reveal the date of airing.--Source: ABS-CBN News
