Earlier in the day, Manila International Airport Authority general manager Jose Angel Honrado said the Cebu Pacific plane (5J-448) from Iloilo landed amid bad weather conditions and damaged some runway lights.
The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines also said the pilot of the plane involved in the incident was grounded.
However, Cebu Pacific also pointed out the plane "taxied to the terminal for the regular deplaning of its 95 passengers."
