Deniece Cornejo and Cedric Lee -- the two people involved in the mauling of TV host-actor Vhong Navarro -- are fleeing to Singapore, according to reports received by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).
According to reports, the names of Lee and Cornejo appeared in the integrated information and booking system of Philippine Airlines (PAL) scheduled for a flight to Singapore via PR-503 on February 6 at 7:55 am.
The flight reservations were done through online booking two days ago, the same day when Cornejo and Lee were identified by Navarro as the people who mauled him inside Forbes Woods Residences condominium unit in Fort Bonifacio, Taguuig City.
However, airline sources could not confirm if the people who made the reservations are the same people implicated in the mauling controversy.
The booked flight was not yet confirmed because the plane tickets are not yet paid. Airline policy says that a flight reservation can only be confirmed after payment is made, after which the corresponding electronic ticket would be issued.
Meanwhile, NBI Director Virgilio Mendez said he will discuss the matter with Justice Secretary Leila de Lima on what actions to take.
He said he also spoke to Atty. Howard Calleja, lawyer of both Lee and Cornejo, who assured him that his clients will go to the NBI.
Cornejo and Lee are not yet included in any immigration watch list or hold departure order (HDO) and can still leave the country anytime.
In 2011, Ramona Revilla, who was implicated and charged for the murder of her brother Ramgen Revilla, was able to leave the country due to the absence of a watchlist order or hold departure order.--Source: ABS-CBN News
