Actress-TV host Anne Curtis is giving her "Dyesebel" character a twist.
In a recent photoshoot for ABS-CBN's upcoming fantasy teleserye, Curtis is seen as a more glamorous half-fish, half-maiden creature wearing a royal blue dress with a matching headdress of "seashells-and-jewels" ornaments.
The photos were shared by Lala Flores and Raymond Santiago, Curtis' make-up and hair stylist respectively.
Dyesebel is a popular mermaid character in the Philippines. The comic book character was originally conceived by the Filipino comic book illustrator, Mars Ravelo and drawn by Elpidio Torres.
It was first serialized in Pilipino Komiks in 1952-53, and was later adapted into the big screen with Edna Luna as Dyesebel.
Since then, other actresses portrayed the character such as Vilma Santos (1973), Alma Moreno (1978), Alice Dixson (1990), and Charlene Gonzales (1996).
Curtis is the second actress to play Dyesebel in a TV series, following Marian Rivera on GMA-7 in 2008.
