A new concept store in Bonifacio Global City promises to turn your ordinary trash bins from "trashy" to "diamonds," so what is normally hidden can now be seen and displayed.

Dutch brand Brabantia, a store specializing on household equipment, is now open on the 3rd floor of the Dimensione Building in Bonifacio High Street, BGC.

During its January 16 opening, Danny den Hartog, Area Sales Manager for Asia Pacific for Brabantia said;

 “In 1955, they were using plastic bags in the corner of the room. Even in the US, there was no word in the dictionary for ‘wastebin,' so... when we started in the US, they created the word for that.”
“I think people are hiding it is because it looks so ugly... and now we have a diamond in the house, you can show [your trash bins]... you can make a statement about the level of sophistication that you have as a consumer.”

The trashbins can seem at first as models of conservative design, but one can marvel about how a company has made so many thoughtful changes to the humble trashbin, such as its lids that open and close without a sound. It is in these little details that Brabantia gets an edge over its competition.

The store also carries other products that play with the idea of letting household products that are normally hidden be seen and displayed, such as a heat-resistant ironing board with surfboard elements, or humble throwaway items such as toothpick holders that become table showpieces with a press of a button.

The company's products are mostly stainless steel and most comes with a 10-year warranty.--Source; Business World Online
