The film revolves on the life of a senator who went into hiding after being framed for a crime he didn't commit. Director Joyce Bernal had earlier said the movie was inspired by real-life events involving former Senator Panfilo Lacson, who hid after an arrest warrant was released against him in relation to murders in 2000.
“10,000 Hours” also won Robin Padilla his "Best Actor" trophy, and two special awards – the FPJ Memorial Award for Excellence, and the Gat Puno Villegas Cultural Award.
“Girl, Boy, Bakla, Tomboy” took the 2nd Best Picture followed by “My Little Bossings,” in third place.
