In the X-Men universe, Apocalypse is one of the franchise's most beloved super-villains and the world's first mutant. Born more than 5,000 years ago and basically immortal, Apocalypse uses his assortment of powers — telepathy, telekinesis, molecular manipulation, etc. — to further his plan for mutant supremacy.
Apocalypse's most famous story line comes from Age of Apocalypse, in which the mutant is the ruler of an alternate reality Earth where mutants enslave their human counterparts. This arc featured alternative versions of the X-Men as well, including a one-handed Wolverine.--Source: Entertainment Weekly/TV Guide
