ABS-CBN news anchor Korina Sanchez was reportedly suspended for a week for her criticism of a CNN reporter's coverage on the absence of government officials in Tacloban City during the super typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) aftermath.

'How dare you' big screen from CNN

The rumors of Sanchez's suspension followed after netizens posted a barrage of social media rants against her.

In a blog from Yahoo News, it said Sanchez was noticeably absent from the primetime news program since Thursday, Nov. 14. Her last appearance on the newscast was when she reported live from Ormoc City to check on relief efforts.

She was in Ormoc obviously to respond to Cooper’s dare that she visit Tacloban to assess the situation herself and that she could easily do it being the “Interior Minister’s wife.” Cooper’s challenge came as his response to Korina’s comments. Of course, Cooper’s CNN desk defended its prized expert journalist in disaster-stricken locations calling Korina’s observations “inaccurate” and “bizarre.”

Below is the CNN’s episode “The World Lead”, where a photo of Korina Sanchez was flashed on its big screen accompanied with a caption “How dare you, CNN?".

The feud between the two news anchors started when Sanchez made a comment on her morning radio show DZMM about the report coverage of CNN anchor Anderson Cooper.

In Cooper's report, he said there’s “No evidence of organized relief and rescue operation around Tacloban. I haven’t seen much of relief effort, I haven’t seen a large military presence.”

Korina Sanchez slammed the report and said Cooper “doesn’t know what he is talking about.”

In response, Cooper said, “Miss Sanchez is welcome to go there and urge to go there. I don’t know if she has but her husband is in-charge I’m sure she can arrange her flight.”
