Two bomb explosions on Monday night rocked SM City Davao and Gaisano malls, police authorities reported.
The first explosion happened inside SM City Davao's Cinema 1 at 9:03 p.m., Davao City Police Director Ronald dela Rosa said in a text message sent to Sun.Star.
Dela Rosa said police authorities and bomb squad personnel immediately responded to SM City Davao located in Ecoland after the blast.
The authorities then advised all the moviegoers inside Cinema 1, including from other cinemas of SM City Davao, to vacate the area for possible secondary blast.
The bomb was found on top of the a seat in first row orchestra section of the cinema, the police reported.
No one was reported hurt in the explosion inside SM City Davao since all 10 moviegoers were seated at the cinema's balcony.
However, five people were slightly injured after a second suspected bomb went off inside Cinema 5 in Gaisano mall in Bajada, also in Davao City, at 9:25 p.m.
The five moviegoers were brought to San Pedro Hospital after complaining of ear pain due to the blast.
Authorities found the bomb beneath seat #6 of the ninth row.
