LTO will start the implementation of Republic Act (RA) 10930 on the renewal of Driver's License on 28 October 2021 at the Central Office-Licensing Section and Quezon City Licensing Center (QCLC). This will be followed by other offices in the National Capital Region on 3rd November 2021.
In accordance with RA 10930, which mandates extending the validity of licenses, those without traffic violation records can now renew their licenses for 10-year Driver's License. Meanwhile, applicants with traffic violation records will remain on the 5-year Driver's License.
All renewal applicants must now go through a Comprehensive Driver's Education (CDE) in order to receive their CDE Certificate.
CDE materials are available at the LTO Portal (portal.lto.gov.ph), at LTO offices, and at LTO-Accredited Driving Schools. CDE is free at LTO Driver's Education Centers and on the LTO Portal. All applicants are encouraged to register in the Land Transportation Management System (LTMS) at the LTO Portal.
