The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has announced the following traffic advisories for the month of October and beyond. Make sure to prepare your alternate routes to avoid inconvenience.
Nagtahan Flyover Off-Limits to Truck For 7 Months Starting October 1, Implements One-Lane Policy
The Nagtahan Flyover Manila is closed to trucks for seven months starting October 1 as the structure undergoes rehabilitation and major repairs after cracks and defects are found on the bridge.
Only one lane at a time shall be occupied and only light vehicles are allowed to pass on the flyover and the Nagtahan Service Road.
Portion of the North Avenue Closed for Eight Months
A portion of the North Avenue (eastbound or going Elliptical Road) in Quezon City will be closed to traffic from October 15 to June 1, 2022 to give way to the ongoing construction of Metro Rail Transit Line 7 (MRT 7), a project of the Department of Transportation (DoTr).
Vehicles entering Wildlife and Veterans Memorial Medical Center can still pass through North Avenue.
Vehicles going Elliptical Road may take Quezon Avenue via Agham Road as an alternative route.
Metro Mayors Implement Shortened Curfew Hours; Agree to Restricted Access to Cemeteries for One-Week
The Metro Manila Council (MMC) shall impose shortened curfew hours from 12 midnight to 4 a.m. which started October 13, at the National Capital Region (NCR), as the region perceives a downtrend in its COVID-19 active cases.
The MMC also approved a resolution urging the Metro Manila LGUs to enact ordinances and/or adopt resolutions restricting access to public and private cemeteries, memorial parks, and columbaria from October 29 to November 2 to prevent mass gatherings and to avert COVID-19 transmission during the observance of Undas or All Saints' Day.
The MMDA chief added the MMC decided to adopt the resolution implemented last year to temporarily close cemeteries all over the metropolis for at least one week. There are 29 public cemeteries in Metro Manila.
