The Department of Transportation (DOTR) is set to erect girder and steel columns for the Unified Grand Central Station starting July 9, from 11 pm to 5 am.

Edsa-North Avenue closes for 76 days, expect counterflow and zipper lanes

To give way to this activity, a counter flow scheme will be implemented at EDSA-North Avenue southbound during nighttime for a period of 76 days. Three lanes will be affected.

U-turn slot near West Ave. will be used as by-pass for southbound zipper lane while U-turn slot near MRT North Avenue Station will be utilized as by-pass going back to Southbound.

Traffic signages are installed in the area to guide the motorists.

The Unified Grand Central Station is part of the Build, Build, Build project that will interconnect MRT-7, MRT-3, and LRT-1.

The traffic adjustment for the transport hub’s ongoing construction is in coordination with the MMDA and the local government of Quezon City.

Once completed, travel time to Bulacan via Commonwealth Avenue in Quezon City and from Valenzuela to NAIA is expected to be faster and more convenient for commuters. (MMDA News Release)
