Ai Ai delas Alas and her month-old husband Jed Salang have reportedly separated.
According to a report published Friday on entertainment news site Philippine Entertainment Portal, the 48-year-old actress and the basketball player-businessman who is 20 years her junior are no longer together.
No further information about the break-up were detailed in the report.
Delas Alas and Salang exchanged vows in a civil wedding in Las Vegas last April 3, with a church wedding originally planned to be held in the Philippines in December.
Prior to their wedding last month, the two briefly separated, by the Kapamilya star's admission, over Salang's apprehensions about settling down.
In an interview aired on the entertainment talk show "The Buzz" in April, delas Alas said she left for the United States in February after Salang expressed hesitation to finally wed.
The two eventually reconciled, and proceeded to tie the knot, after Salang pursued delas Alas and proposed that they marry.
The couple was supposed to be planning for their upcoming church wedding that was heavily publicized in different showbiz and entertainment shows.
Even Kris Aquino, one of Ai-Ai’s best friends, confirmed that her son, “Bimby,” will be the ring bearer in the church wedding.
Ai-Ai and Jed have a history of love-hate, on and off relationship long before marriage. Fortunately for A-Ai, they have a pre-nuptial agreement.
The breakup is a record in Philippine showbiz, similar to that of Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries’ in the United States. Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries’ marriage lasted longer at 72 days while Ai-Ai and Jed was only 45 days.--Source: ABS-CBN/Pep.ph/Tempo
