Here's the 2015 updated list on banned items on plane


IF YOU'RE packing for a flight, be sure to know this new list of prohibited items that applies to all flights originating within the country.

In an article from ABS-CBN News, it said the Department of Transportation and Communications-Office of Transportation Security already released memorandum circular MC2015-02, listing seven categories as among those prohibited inside airplanes.

As follows:


1. Guns, Firearms and Other Devices that Discharge Projectiles

PROHIBITED IN CARRY-ON AND CHECKED-IN BAGGAGE: air gun; ammunition shells, bullets and other component; bolt gun; component of guns and firearm; compressed air gun; firearms; flare gun; harpoon gun; nail gun; pellet guns; pistol; replicas and imitation firearms; revolver; rifle; shotgun; spear gun; sport-related firearm

PROHIBITED IN CARRY-ON BUT ALLOWED IN CHECKED-IN BAGGAGE ONLY: slingshots; bow and arrow; and crossbows

NOTE: All forms of firearms and guns prohibited must be endorsed to the appropriate law enforcement officer.


2. Stunning Devices

PROHIBITED IN CARRY-ON AND CHECKED-IN BAGGAGE: tear gas

PROHIBITED IN CARRY-ON BUT ALLOWED IN CHECKED-IN BAGGAGE  ONLY: acid spray; insect/animal repellant spray; mace/pepper spray; stun guns


3. Objects with Sharp Points and Edges

PROHIBITED IN CARRY-ON BUT ALLOWED IN CHECKED-IN BAGGAGE  ONLY: axe; bayonet; bolos; box cutter; butterfly knife; canned products; cleaver; cock fighting knives and blade; cork screw; disguised objects with sharp edges; diving knife; hatchet; ice axes; ice picks; knives; letter openers; medical scalpel; nipper/pusher/nail file/nail cutter; open razors/razor blade; pocket comb weapon; pocket folded knife; sabers, scissors; swords.


4. Workers' Tools

PROHIBITED IN CARRY-ON BUT ALLOWED IN CHECKED-IN BAGGAGE  ONLY: crowbars; drills; extension cords; G.I. wires (alambre); hammers; nails, pliers; retractable tape measure; saws; screwdrivers; tapes; wrenches.


5. Blunt Instruments

PROHIBITED IN CARRY-ON BUT ALLOWED IN CHECKED-IN BAGGAGE  ONLY: all metal chains; baton sticks; billiard sticks; boat paddles; bowling/billiard balls; cane umbrella; clubs/sticks/bats/rods; cricket paddle; crutches/walking sticks or aids; dumbbells; fishing hooks; fishing rod; grindstone knives; ice skates; kayak; knuckles; lacrosse sticks; paintball equipment; scuba diving equipment; ski holes; tennis/badminton/squash rackets/ large tripod.


6. Explosives and Incendiary Substances and Devices

PROHIBITED IN CARRY-ON AND CHECKED-IN BAGGAGE: blasting cap; detonator and fuse; grenade; dynamite; flares; plastic explosives; pyrotechnics; ammunition; smoke-generating canisters or cartridges; mines or imitation explosive devices; replica or imitation explosive devices; fuels; lighter fluids; gasoline.

PROHIBITED IN CARRY-ON BUT ALLOWED IN CHECKED-IN BAGGAGE  ONLY: all kinds of lighters


7. Liquid, Aerosols and Gels (LAGs)

PROHIBITED IN CARRY-ON AND CHECKED-IN BAGGAGE: flammable, corrosive or toxic LAGs

PROHIBITED IN CARRY-ON BUT ALLOWED IN CHECKED-IN BAGGAGE  ONLY: LAGS in individual containers with a capacity of 100 ml, contained in one transparent re-sealable plastic bag of a capacity not exceeding 1 liter.

NOTE: Only one transparent 20cm x 20cm resealable plastic bag will be allowed for each passenger.

“Exceptions should be made for medications, baby milk/food and special delivery requirement. All types of LAGs regardless of volume when labeled as flammable (highly combustible & self-igniting by chemical reaction), corrosive or toxic is not allowed in the cabin or in the hold,” the circular said.
