President Aquino has signed Proclamation 629 declaring August 9, Friday, as a regular holiday nationwide to mark the end of Ramadan or Eid'l Fitr.
"Now, therefore, I, Benigno S. Aquino III, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare Friday, 9 August 2013, as a regular holiday throughout the country in observance of Eid’l Fitr (Feast of Ramadhan). The Eid’l Fitr Prayer shall be performed depending on the result of the moon-sighting activity on 7 August 2013," the proclamation read.
Malacañang earlier announced August 26, National Heroes Day, as a regular holiday. August 21, Ninoy Aquino Day, is also a special non-working day.--Source: ABS-CBN News

For Regular Holidays:
1. If it is an employee’s regular workday
* If unworked – 100%
* If worked - 1st 8 hours – 200%
excess of 8 hours – plus 30% of hourly rate on said day
2. If it is an employee’s rest day
* If unworked – 100%
* If worked - 1st 8 hours – plus 30% of 200%
excess of 8 hours – plus 30% of hourly rate on said day
For Special Non-Working Holidays:
1. If unworked
* No pay, unless there is a favorable company policy, practice or collective bargaining agreement (CBA) granting payment of wages on special days even if unworked.
2. If worked
* 1st 8 hours – plus 30% of the daily rate of 100%
* excess of 8 hours – plus 30% of hourly rate on said day
3. Falling on the employee’s rest day and if worked
* 1st 8 hours – plus 50% of the daily rate of 100%
* excess of 8 hours – plus 30% of hourly rate on said day.
