Comes now another Marvel group of superheroes in the upcoming film "Fantastic Four," featuring a new set of cast and a new origins story for the characters.
The trailer opened up with scientist Dr. Franklin Storm (played by Reg E. Cathey) defending his project to a board of executives, saying that he hired a very exceptional young man Reed Richards (Miles Teller/Mr. Fantastic) to help with their research.
Richards meets his future love interest Susan Storm (Kate Mara/Invisible Woman) and her brother Johnny (Michael B. Jordan/Human Torch) at the laboratory, plus a glimpse of his "muscled" bodyguard Ben Grimm (Jamie Bell/The Thing), while playing with a baseball bat.
The new FF movie obviously offers a different kind of origins. Reed and the rest of the crew looks very much younger (actually, looks kinda adolescent to some) than the old FF film, and the team are at the beginning of their relationship.
Whereas the old FF movie is more categorized as a family film, this new version seems to be darker.
SYNOPSIS: Four youngsters agreed to an experiment to be teleported to an alternate and dangerous universe, but return home with their physical form altered in four different ways. Together, they must learn to harness their abilities and work together as a team to save the Earth from a former friend turned enemy.
Released by 20th Century Fox and directed by Josh Trank, “Fantastic Four” (3D) opens in cinemas on August 6 in the Philippines.
